Homophobic Incidents
Surrey Police define a homophobic incident to be:
"Any incident perceived to be homophobic by the victim or any other person."
We are committed to identifying and prosecuting perpetrators of homophobic crime.
Reporting incidents to police provides essential information which enables the police to prevent
further incidents taking place and to identify those responsible.
We will treat information sensitively and in confidence.
All necessary steps will be taken to protect the identity of the person reporting the
crime or providing information. We will record the incident regardless of whether the victim
supports any further action to enable a better assessment of Hate Crime patterns.
